ABOUT
Marzetta's House Publishing is a Black, woman-owned publishing house on a mission to empower marginalized voices. We create content that is inclusive and affirming of the LGBTQ+ community and works to expand the narratives of Black authors. We also provide resources to writers and content creators to help them reach their goals.
At Marzetta's House Publishing, we are dedicated to creating spaces for diverse voices and stories to be heard, seen and shared. We believe in the power of stories and are passionate about connecting and uplifting communities through the written word and performance.
Based in Austin, Texas, Marzetta's House is open to collaboration nationally and internationally. We aim to do programming in-person and virtually through literature, workshops, and music.
The Original Marzetta: A.K.A. “Granny”
Our founder, Kaitlyn Marzetta McClung is named after her great-grandmother, Marzetta Hicks. With four cousins also named after her matriarch, Marzetta founded this publishing house as creative and communal space to be a home for those who need healing, rest, and nourishment.
